EV & home battery charging optimiser

Works out how much energy you need and the cheapest half-hours to charge before your deadline. AgileWatch doesn't control your charger — use the times below in your charger, car or battery app.

Charging style

Charging 40.0 kWh at 7.4 kW takes 5.4 h, which doesn't fit in the published prices between your start and deadline. Choose a later deadline, raise the charge power, or check back after 4:00 PM UK when tomorrow's prices are out.

How the optimiser works

Energy needed = battery size × (target − current charge) ÷ charging efficiency. With cheapest slots, we pick the lowest-priced half-hours before your deadline (a smart charger can stop and start); with one continuous session we find the cheapest unbroken block. The final half-hour may be partial. We compare the result with plugging in and charging straight away.

What is the cheapest time to charge an EV on Octopus Agile?

It changes daily. Enter your battery size, current and target charge, charger power and the time you need the car ready, and the optimiser picks the cheapest published half-hours before your deadline.

Does AgileWatch control my charger or battery?

No. AgileWatch only calculates a schedule from published prices. Set the times in your charger, car or battery app, or use a device that supports Agile pricing directly.
