About this comparison
Is Octopus Agile cheaper than Octopus Tracker?
It depends on when you use electricity. Agile changes every half-hour and is expensive from 4pm to 7pm; Tracker has one price per day. Households that can shift usage away from the evening peak often pay less on Agile, while those that cannot may do better on Tracker. The calculator above compares both using real recent prices and standing charges.
Does the comparison include standing charges?
Yes. Each day uses the standing charge Octopus published for that tariff and region, alongside the unit prices, so the totals reflect the whole bill rather than headline unit rates.
Past prices don't guarantee future ones: winter wholesale prices are usually higher, and both tariffs change over time. Use this as a guide, and check current terms on octopus.energy before switching.
